Lincoln, the town he named and christened with watermelon
1853
Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois

The first town named for Abraham Lincoln, and named while he was still a circuit lawyer nobody outside Illinois had heard of. He did the legal work for the founders, turned up on the day lots went on sale, and christened the place with the juice of a watermelon, telling them he had never known anything named Lincoln to amount to much.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
