He was born in a Victorian house on this street, wrote the valley as the whole world, and was disliked at home for it for decades, the library kept his books off the shelf and there was talk of burning them. He won the Nobel in 1962. The town now runs a museum about him a block from where he was born, which he would have found very funny.
