Lehman Caves
1922
Great Basin National Park, Nevada
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
A rancher found the entrance in 1885 and led tours by candlelight, charging a dollar and a bottle of whisky. The cave holds one of the world's densest concentrations of shields, rare discs of calcite that grow out from walls at odd angles, and nobody is certain how.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
