Lakewood Fairgrounds opens for the Southeastern Fair
1916
Lakewood Heights, Atlanta, Georgia
Atlanta laid out 117 acres around a fifteen acre lake in 1916 to host the Southeastern Fair, on ground that had been Creek land. For most of the twentieth century the fair was the biggest annual gathering on the south side of the city. The site later took a dirt racing oval and, eventually, an amphitheatre.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
