Johnny and June Cash both die at Baptist Hospital
Saint Thomas Midtown, Nashville
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
June Carter Cash died here in May after heart valve surgery, and Johnny four months later in September, of complications from diabetes. He had gone on recording almost to the end, and the video for Hurt had been shot in his flooded museum. The building was Baptist Hospital then and was renamed Saint Thomas Midtown a decade later.
