1941
Toledo, Ohio

Willys-Overland won the contract for the Army's quarter-ton reconnaissance car and Toledo built more than 360,000 of them during the Second World War, the vehicle GIs named the Jeep and Eisenhower listed among the tools that won the war. The city has built Jeeps continuously ever since. The Wrangler still comes off a Toledo line, and the annual Jeep Fest fills downtown with them.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
