Hudson's Naval Ordnance Plant builds Oerlikon guns in Warren
1941
Mound Road, Warren, Michigan
The Navy put up an ordnance plant on Mound Road in 1941 and handed it to the Hudson Motor Car Company to run. A carmaker that had never built a weapon was soon turning out 20mm Oerlikon antiaircraft guns and gun mount parts for the fleet. The building later became General Motors' Warren Transmission plant, part of the same Mound Road strip as the tank arsenal and Dodge's truck plant.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
