Horseshoe Lake, cypress this far north

An old bend of the Mississippi left behind as an oxbow, filled with bald cypress and tupelo standing in open water, which is the kind of swamp people expect several hundred miles further south. It became one of the great wintering grounds for Canada geese in North America, at times holding a large share of the Mississippi Valley population, and the goose hunting around it built an economy.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
