A. R. Loomis put up a two room house on South Acacia Street in 1869, two years after Griffith Compton led thirty families down from Stockton to farm here. Later owners built rooms around it. California listed it as Historical Landmark 664 in 1958, and when the city bought the land for a fire station the year after, it moved the house to Willowbrook Avenue and Myrrh Street rather than pull it down.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
