Galilee and the fishing fleet
1900
Galilee, Narragansett, Rhode Island

One of the East Coast's hardest-working fishing ports, a village named by a passing preacher who saw the nets and thought of the Sea of Galilee. The settlement across the channel got called Jerusalem. The fleet lands squid, flounder and lobster feet from the clam shacks that fry it, and the Block Island ferry threads out between the trawlers. Order the stuffies.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
