Florida Coastal School of Law closes when its for-profit chain collapses
2021
Baymeadows, Jacksonville, Florida
The school opened in 1996 and became the last one standing of the three for-profit law schools run by the InfiLaw System, which was owned by the private equity firm Sterling Partners. Accreditation trouble and the loss of its federal student aid closed it in 2021. Graduates still sitting the exam in July 2022 passed the Florida bar at 31 percent, the lowest rate of any law school in the state.
