St. Mary's refused Fitzgerald a plot when he died in 1940 because he was not a practising Catholic, so he went into Rockville Union Cemetery instead, and Zelda joined him there in 1948. Their daughter Scottie got the decision reversed and both were moved to the family plot here in November 1975. The stone carries the closing line of The Great Gatsby. The historic district around it keeps the Victorian Gothic railroad station and the narrow street that was once the way into town.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
