Elgin's fifteen storey tower, finished months before the crash
1929

A 186 foot office tower built in 1929 for the Home National Bank, and still the tallest thing in Elgin. The Depression ruined the bank within months of the ribbon cutting. The building filled up again after the Second World War while demand for Elgin goods held, then went the way the town went, and the 1965 closing of the Elgin National Watch Company took most of what trade was left in it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
