Dobson Ranch digs man made lakes into the Mesa desert
1973
Mesa, Arizona
The city of Mesa bought the Dobson family homestead and a planned community went up across it between 1973 and 1999. The developers laid out a golf course and a chain of small artificial lakes, selling waterfront living in a place that gets under ten inches of rain a year. It fills the square bounded by US 60, the 101, Guadalupe Road and Extension Road.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
