Denny Party lands at Alki

Twenty-two settlers came ashore in the rain on 13 November 1851 and named the place New York Alki, Chinook jargon for by and by. The women reportedly wept at the sight of it. Within months most had moved across the bay to deeper water.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
