Clewiston, America's sweetest town

Clewiston, Florida
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
A company town on the south shore of Lake Okeechobee, built around U.S. Sugar since 1931, in the middle of the half-million acres of cane that make Florida the biggest sugar producer in the country. The town calls itself America's Sweetest Town. The burning cane fields each winter snow ash on the cars, which locals call black snow.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
