Clark-Fulton becomes La Villa Hispana, the centre of Puerto Rican Cleveland
1960
Cleveland, Ohio
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Puerto Rican families recruited to northeast Ohio for heavy industry after the Second World War settled into this square mile through the 1960s, many of them moving across town from Hough and Lexington. It is now the most densely populated neighbourhood in Cleveland and close to half Hispanic. The blocks around West 25th and Clark trade under the name La Villa Hispana.
