Claiborne Farm and Secretariat's grave
1910
Paris, Kentucky
The limestone under this country puts calcium in the grass and the water, which is the standard explanation for why Kentucky raises racehorses. Claiborne stood Secretariat, Bold Ruler and Seattle Slew, and buried them whole rather than the usual head, heart and hooves, a distinction reserved for the very best.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
