Churchill draws the Iron Curtain at Fulton
1946
Westminster College, Fulton, Missouri

A small Missouri college got Churchill because a graduate on Truman's staff put the invitation in front of the president, who scribbled that it was a fine old school and that he would introduce him. Out of office and speaking as a private citizen, Churchill said an iron curtain had descended across the continent. The phrase named the next forty-five years, and the reaction at the time was largely that he was warmongering.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
