The association behind this hospital grew out of a summer tent hospital for sick children in Denver and incorporated in 1908. It admitted its first patients in a converted house on Downing Street in 1910 and treated 290 children that year. In September 2007 the whole operation moved to the former Fitzsimons Army grounds in Aurora, where the system now runs more than 600 pediatric beds across four hospitals.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
