Cambria Heights, named for a Pennsylvania bank

The name came from the Cambria Title Savings and Trust Company of Cambria County, Pennsylvania, which financed the first houses here in the mid 1920s and sold them to families leaving rented apartments in the older boroughs. From the 1950s onward Cambria Heights became one of the places where Black and later Caribbean New Yorkers bought houses instead of renting, and it still has one of the highest homeownership rates in Queens. The Heights is literal: the ground sits about fifty feet above the flats around it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
