Bushnell Park
1854
Hartford, Connecticut
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
The first public park in America paid for by a popular vote of the people who would use it, on land cleared of a slum and a tannery. It predates Central Park's opening and holds a 1914 carousel with a Wurlitzer band organ.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
