Blueprints, the 410,000-pound sculpture in the middle of Addison Circle
2000
Addison, Texas
Addison built a 133-foot roundabout in 1997 as the centre of a walkable town core, then commissioned artist Mel Chin to fill it. Unveiled in April 2000, Blueprints is 25 steel poles and five panels, more than four storeys high and 140 feet across, weighing 410,000 pounds. It took 650 gallons of a custom blue paint mixed to match a Sharpie.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
