Bay to Breakers is first run
1912
The Embarcadero, San Francisco
Geoffrey Weber · CC BY 2.0 · Wikimedia Commons
Started to cheer the city up after the earthquake, it runs seven and a half miles from the bay to the Pacific and has been overtaken by everything except the route. There are runners at the front and, behind them, salmon costumes going the wrong way on purpose, centipedes of thirteen people tied together, and a long tradition of wearing nothing at all.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
