Boston Blacking Company, the adhesive maker behind Bostik, put up this Streamline Moderne block on the Charles in 1937 to a Coolidge, Shepley, Bulfinch and Abbott design. Polaroid ran its corporate headquarters out of the building from 1979 to 1996. The National Register listed it in 1982 under a misspelled name that has stuck.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
