A shopping center parking lot in Steele Creek, on the southwest edge of Charlotte, between a bank and a gas station. This is where a Charlotte emo TikToker filmed the fifteen seconds that outlived almost everything else he posted: a selfie camera complaint that his town has no emo girls and no scene girls in it, only basic ones who listen to Taylor Swift. The delivery is what sold it. He is standing in a strip mall lot in a winter jacket, entirely serious about all of it, and the line has been quoted and reposted ever since by people who have never once seen the account it came from.
