Fool me once, shame on you
2002
East Literature Magnet School, Gallatin Avenue, East Nashville, Nashville, Tennessee
George W. Bush came to this magnet school on Gallatin Avenue on 17 September 2002 to talk about teaching American history and civic education, a Pledge Across America backdrop behind him and schoolchildren in the seats. Reaching for the proverb about being deceived twice, he got the first half out and then lost it altogether: there is an old saying in Tennessee, I know it is in Texas, probably in Tennessee, that says fool me once, shame on, shame on you, fool me, you cannot get fooled again.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
