On the morning of 18 June 2022 the president was finishing a ride with the first lady when he steered over to a crowd waiting by the trail, failed to get his foot out of the toe cage, and went down sideways in front of the entire White House press pool. Secret Service agents had him up in seconds. He said he was good, took questions, and rode off. This trailhead is where the Gordons Pond Trail ends at the park car park, which is where those rides started and finished and where Marine One set down.
