Seven generations of Beams have made whiskey in Kentucky since Jacob Beam sold his first barrel in 1795, the family name is on the biggest bourbon in the world and half the master-distiller lineages in the state. Prohibition stopped it for thirteen years. Jim Beam rebuilt the Clermont distillery at seventy in 120 days.
