Adolph Coors, a stowaway brewer's apprentice from Prussia, picked Clear Creek canyon for the water and built what became the largest single brewing site on earth. For decades the beer was unpasteurised and sold only in the West, which made it contraband glamour east of the Mississippi, the entire plot of Smokey and the Bandit.
