Hunters bring live rattlesnakes into downtown Waurika each spring for handling demonstrations, a snake derby, and vendors selling snakeskin crafts and fried rattlesnake meat. The hunt has run since the early 1960s and is one of the last surviving rattlesnake roundups in Oklahoma. It runs Thursday through Sunday on the second weekend of April.
