On March 6, 1978, during a lunch break in his obscenity trial, Hustler publisher Larry Flynt and his lawyer Gene Reeves were walking back to the Gwinnett County Courthouse when a sniper across the street shot them both on the sidewalk in front of 136 South Perry Street.
