The Gobbler Gallop sends runners and walkers out from the Marion Farmers Market for a 5K on Thanksgiving morning, a fixture of the town's holiday tradition. The Albano Youth Soccer Foundation has sponsored the race for years, with registration opening at 8:30am ahead of the 9am start. It is one of several Thanksgiving morning turkey trots that have become a Smyth County ritual.
