Idlewild Park hosts one of the oldest Highland games in the country each July, with caber toss and hammer throw competitions, massed pipe bands and dozens of Scottish clan society tents. The games have run since the 1950s and held their 67th annual gathering in 2026. Competitors and clan societies travel from across the country for the weekend.
