The Ipswich Lions Club's chowderfest brings about a dozen North Shore restaurants to the Downtown Riverwalk each October to pour samples of their best clam chowder for public tasting and bragging rights. The event pairs the tasting with local crafters, live music, and children's activities. It has run for more than two decades in a town famous for its fried clams.
