Every spring, the Flora-Bama Lounge straddling the Florida-Alabama line hosts a three-day beach party built around throwing dead mullet fish across the state line for distance. The contest has run on the last full weekend of April for decades, drawing beachgoers from both states to Perdido Key. Live music and food vendors fill the beach around the toss pit all weekend.
