A biennial Swiss-heritage festival on Monroe's historic courthouse square celebrating Green County's dairy history. First held in 1914, it is considered one of the oldest food festivals in the Midwest and combines cheese tastings, a parade, and polka music. The festival returns in even-numbered years.

The second-oldest brewery in the country, brewing continuously in the Swiss-cheese town of Monroe since 1845 under a parade of names, most famously Joseph Huber's.
