The Frankenmuth Bavarian Festival fills Heritage Park each June with polka bands, a carnival, and Bavarian food and beer, billed as Michigan's largest Bavarian-heritage celebration. It grew out of the Bavarian Inn's 1959 opening and was formally organized in 1963.
