Now in its 42nd year, the festival has hosted major Nashville songwriters since the 1980s. Writers trade songs and stories in the round across eleven days.

Every spring, the Flora-Bama Lounge straddling the Florida-Alabama line hosts a three-day beach party built around throwing dead mullet fish across the state line for distance.
