Florida's oldest maritime festival celebrates the oyster and shrimp fleets that built Apalachicola, running since 1963 under the oaks of Battery Park on the bay. The weekend includes oyster shucking and eating contests, a blessing of the fleet, and a parade through downtown. It remains the signature event on the Forgotten Coast.
