An interfaith service and outdoor fair held on the first Sunday of October at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in Morningside Heights, centered on blessings for pets and other animals. It has run since the mid-1980s and is one of New York City's best known animal blessing traditions, drawing large crowds of pet owners each fall. The 2026 edition reworks the format around the cathedral's main service rather than a separate outdoor procession.
