A recreated 16th-century village called Fairhaven hosts jousting, falconry, and more than a dozen stages of period entertainment every Saturday and Sunday from early October through late November. The festival opened in 1994 on a 25-acre site north of Charlotte and now draws roughly 230,000 visitors across its run. It is one of the largest Renaissance festivals in the Southeast.
