Charlestown marks the anniversary of the 1775 Battle of Bunker Hill with a parade of marching bands, veterans, reenactors, and local groups down Main Street to the Charlestown Training Field. The parade has run since 1786, making it one of the oldest continuous civic traditions in the country, and always falls on the Sunday on or before June 17. It remains a defining neighborhood event for Charlestown.
