Davenport has celebrated cornetist Bix Beiderbecke, born in the city in 1903, with the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival since 1972. The multi day festival brings Dixieland and traditional jazz bands from around the country each summer, most recently to the Rhythm City Casino Event Center.
