B.B. King returned to his hometown of Indianola most Junes for decades to headline this free festival at Fletcher Park, and the tradition has continued since his death in 2015. Blues acts perform on the same grounds a short walk from the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center.

King chopped cotton in this county and played on the corner of Church and Second for tips, then went to Memphis, took a radio job, and spent the rest of his life on the road, over 300 shows a year into his seventies.
