Anamosa has held its Pumpkinfest and Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off on the first Saturday of October since 1989, filling downtown with a parade, craft and food vendors and a scale for growers whose entries can top a thousand pounds. It is one of the longest running harvest festivals in eastern Iowa.
