WSDB signed on as the first radio station in south Dade
1957
Homestead, Florida
South Dade Broadcasting won a permit in May 1957 for 1430 on the AM dial, 500 watts and daytime hours only, and put WSDB on the air that November. It was the first broadcaster of any kind in southern Dade County, which until then heard only Miami. The station went through five more sets of call letters in thirty years before landing on WOIR, and now carries Spanish-language religious programming.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
