Tom Joyner flew to a second city every day to keep two shows at once
1985
Cedar Hill, Texas
K104 went on the air as an urban station in December 1976 and its signal still comes off this Cedar Hill tower. In 1985 it hired Tom Joyner for mornings in Dallas while he kept his afternoon show at WGCI in Chicago, so he flew between the two cities daily: ten shows and about eight thousand miles a week. Both shows reached number one in their markets, the schedule earned him the name the Fly Jock, and he gave up the commute in 1993.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
