The Unabomber pleads guilty
John E. Moss Federal Building, 650 Capitol Mall, Sacramento, California
The Unabomber trial opened in the federal courthouse at 650 Capitol Mall on January 5, 1998 and stopped the same morning, when Kaczynski told Judge Garland Burrell he wanted his lawyers gone rather than let them call him mentally ill. He tried to hang himself in his cell, was examined and found competent, and on January 22 pleaded guilty to every count in return for life without parole. That May, Burrell gave him four life terms plus thirty years and told a packed room he had committed unspeakable and monstrous crimes. The court moved to the new Matsui courthouse the next year; the Moss building, where Squeaky Fromme was also tried, is federal offices now.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
