Del Webb's construction company broke ground on this open air amphitheatre in 1965 and finished it in 1966, and Liberace played the opening night to a crowd of more than 7,000. The grounds run to about nine acres and take in a regulation softball field. It is still owned by the Recreation Centers of Sun City and still programmed for the retirement community around it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
